Health Ombudsman v Jamieson [2017] QCAT 172

On 6 April 2017, the matter of the Health Ombudsman v Stepheny Eliza Jamieson was heard on the papers by the Hon J B Thomas in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).  Judge Thomas found that Ms Jamieson’s conduct amounted to professional misconduct and reprimanded her.

Ms Jamieson’s conduct related to stealing three boxes of antibiotic medicines from her place of employment with the intention of supplying it to her son.

Ms Jamieson surrendered her registration prior to the matter being referred to QCAT.

QCAT’s decision means that should Ms Jamieson apply for registration, a reprimand will appear on the public register of practitioners maintained by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

A copy of the decision is published on the Queensland Supreme Court Library website.
