The Health and Ambulance Services Committee was established by the Queensland Legislative Assembly on 27 March 2015 as a portfolio committee with responsibility for health and ambulance services. The committee was renamed the Health, Communities, Disability Services and Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Committee on 18 February 2016.
The committee has a monitor and review function in relation to the performance of the functions of the Health Ombudsman.
