Immediate registration action

The Health Ombudsman is able to take immediate action to suspend or impose conditions on the registration of a registered health practitioner in Queensland at any time.

Immediate registration action taken against Dr Terence Wai Hoong Teh

The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by imposing conditions on the registration of Dr Terence Wai Hoong Teh, effective 11 September 2020.

Details of Dr Terence Wai Hoong Teh’s registration, including the full list of imposed conditions, can be viewed on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency website.

One of the conditions imposed on Dr Terence Wai Hoong Teh’s registration is the requirement that he must not have contact with female patients.


Immediate registration action taken against Mr Dennis Paterno Orola

The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by imposing conditions on the registration of Mr Dennis Paterno Orola, effective 9 September 2020.

Details of Mr Dennis Paterno Orola’s registration, including the full list of imposed conditions, can be viewed on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency website.

One of the conditions imposed on Mr Dennis Paterno Orola’s registration is the requirement that he must not have contact with female patients.


Immediate registration action taken against Dr Peter Allenby Herbert

The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by imposing conditions on the registration of Dr Peter Allenby Herbert, initially effective 27 April 2020, and amended on 26 August 2020.

Details of Dr Peter Allenby Herbert’s registration, including the full list of imposed conditions, can be viewed on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency website.

One of the conditions imposed on Dr Peter Allenby Herbert’s registration is the requirement that he must not treat female patients other than in certain defined circumstances.

In accordance with section 62(2) of the Health Ombudsman Act 2013 (the Act), the Health Ombudsman’s decision will continue to have effect until:

  • the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal sets the decision aside
    or
  • the Health Ombudsman removes the conditions imposed on Dr Peter Allenby Herbert registration under section 65 of the Act.

Immediate registration action taken against Mr Wise Pokawa Davies (aka Mr Issa Sebleh Dumbaya)

The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by suspending the registration of Mr Wise Pokawa Davies, effective 21 August 2020.

Details of Mr Wise Pokawa Davies registration can be viewed on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency website.

In accordance with section 62(2) of the Health Ombudsman Act 2013 (the Act), the Health Ombudsman’s decision will continue to have effect until:

  • the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal sets the decision aside
    or
  • the Health Ombudsman removes the suspension on Mr Wise Pokawa Davies registration under section 65 of the Act.

Immediate registration action taken against Dr Tony Bakare

The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by suspending the registration of Dr Tony Bakare, effective 22 June 2020.
