The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by imposing conditions on the registration of Dr Anand Vardhan Bhatt, effective 22 June 2021.

Details of Dr Anand Vardhan Bhatt's registration, including the full list of imposed conditions, can be viewed on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency website.

The conditions imposed on Dr Anand Vardhan Bhatt’s registration include the requirement that the practitioner must not have any contact with patients under 18 years of age and must not have any contact with female patients 18 years of age or over without the presence of a practice monitor approved by the Health Ombudsman, who, at all times, is physically present and directly observes (sees and hears) all contact between the practitioner and patient.

In accordance with section 62(2) of the Health Ombudsman Act 2013 (the Act), the Health Ombudsman’s decision will continue to have effect until:

  • the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal sets the decision aside
  • the Health Ombudsman removes the conditions imposed on Dr Anand Vardhan Bhatt registration under section 65 of the Act.
