The Health Ombudsman has accepted undertakings from Terence Wai Hoong Teh, in relation to their registration as a Medical Practitioner (MED0000963098), effective 28 March 2025.
Scope of Practice
The undertakings include the following:
- The practitioner will not practise as medical practitioner.
For the purpose of this undertaking, ‘practise’ is defined as any role, whether remunerated or not, in which a practitioner uses their skills and knowledge in a health care industry, whether they are required to be a registered health practitioner or not. It is not restricted to the provision of direct clinical care and includes using the knowledge and skills of any health practitioner in a direct non-clinical relationship with a patient or client, working in management, administration, education, research, advisory, regulatory or policy development roles and any other roles that impact on safe, effective delivery of services in the health care industry.
Approved employment and practice locations
The practitioner does not currently have Health Ombudsman approval to practise in any employment or practice location.
Period of action or order
In accordance with section 62(2) of the Health Ombudsman Act 2013 (the Act), the decision will continue to have effect until the earlier of the following happens –
- the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal sets aside the decision;
- the Health Ombudsman ends the immediate registration under section 65 of the Act;
- the Health Ombudsman grants an application to revoke the immediate registration action under section 65B.
