24 Nov. 2025
The Health Ombudsman took immediate registration action by imposing conditions on the registration of Mark Douglas Darr, Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse (NMW0002280899), effective 24 November 2025.
The Health Ombudsman then varied the immediate registration action by removing the conditions and suspending the practitioner’s registration, effective 5 June 2026.
The suspension of registration means that the practitioner cannot practise as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse for the duration of the suspension.
‘Practise’ is defined as any role, whether remunerated or not, in which the individual uses their skills and knowledge in their regulated health profession. It is not restricted to the provision of direct clinical care. It includes using professional knowledge in a direct non-clinical relationship with patients or clients, working in management, administration, education, research, advisory, regulatory or policy development roles and any other roles that impact on safe, effective delivery of health services in the health profession.
Period of action or order

- the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal sets aside the decision;
- the Health Ombudsman revokes the suspension under section 65 of the Act.
